What are the recommended time and temperature heat settings for color sublimation?

If the bag that the pendant comes in has a red stripe going across the top it should be 370 degrees F for 45 seconds. If the bag says "Coated" then it is 350 degrees F for 50 seconds. Pendants should be placed face down and pressed on medium pressure. If the pendant has a white front then it should be 390 degrees F for 60 seconds. Please see our sublimation time & temps.pdf for a printable chart.
Yes, both sides of the tag can be sublimated, but I do not know of any way to sublimate the front and back at the SAME time. You would do the front first and then flip it over and do the back. The way we do it is to cut out the image for the front-side and the back-side, position and hold both sides perfectly so the tag is sandwiched in between the two images, and then wrap the whole tag with one even (not overlapping) layer of blue painter's tape. Then you press the first side, finish, and then immediately flip and do the second side. You can usually reduce the time for the second side by a few seconds, since the tag will already be hot.
The shiny nickel-plated and gold-plated tags that we carry can be sublimated on both the front and back. The ones that cannot be sublimated on the back are the tags with the white front and the one model of epoxy coated tag that we carry. But keep in mind, though, that you can still ENGRAVE on the back, for example text, etc.
Hey are the times to sublimate the metal pendants correct at 370 45secs? Didnt want to waste a pendant. Thought sublimation had to be 400 60secs or does that just apply to fabric. Thanks

The time & temps are recommendations, based on our experience, with our particular pendants. Pretty sure there is going to be variation among different manufacturers.
Hi Solomon,
Because the pendant will be very hot, you probably want to let it cool-down a minute or two before removing the transfer. The image on the metal will not be affected negatively as it cools down.

can you do front and back at the same time?

Should the transfers be removed hot or should they be allowed to cool first?
