The entire pin, from the body of the pin, to the diamond tip is new- so you can expect a long service life. Do it yourself easy installation in around 1-2 minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver. Simply unscrew your old cartridge, then remove and replace the old pin, remembering how you took it apart, so you can reassemble.
